Anti Gliadin IgG/IgA Combi Kit
Anti-gliadin antibodies are useful as an aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of coeliac disease. This anti-gliadin EIA kit is designed for the detection and accurate quantitation of IgG and IgA antibodies against gliadin in human serum.
Clinical Utility
The measurement of IgA anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) is useful for following disease activity and as a monitor of maintenance to a gluten free diet. IgG AGA appear to be more sensitive but less specific markers of disease than IgA AGA. Studies indicate, however, that both antibodies should be measured due to high incidence of IgA deficiency among coeliac patients, as an IgA deficiency may serologically mask the disease.
Ease of Use
To aid disease panel testing, anti tissue transglutaminase and anti gliadin EIA kits are supplied with a common wash buffer and sample diluent.
Calibration
The assay is calibrated in U/mL against an arbitrary reference calibrator, as no internationally recognised reference preparation is currently available. A 5 point calibration curve is generated.
