Anti Gliadin (MGP) IgG Kit
These assays are highly sensitive and specific for the measurement of serum IgG antibodies against a modified gliadin peptide (MGP), as an aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of coeliac disease.
Modified gliadin peptide assays are more sensitive and specific than traditional assays that use a gliadin extract antigen preparation.
The measurement of IgA anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) is useful for following disease activity and as a monitor of maintenance to a gluten free diet. IgG AGA appear to be more sensitive but less specific markers of disease than IgA AGA. Studies indicate, however, that both antibodies should be measured due to high incidence of IgA deficiency among coeliac patients, as an IgA deficiency may serologically mask the disease.
Ease of Use
To aid disease panel testing, anti tissue transglutaminase and anti gliadin (MGP) EIA kits are supplied with a common wash buffer and sample diluent.
Calibration
The assay is calibrated in U/mL against an arbitrary reference calibrator, as no internationally recognised reference preparation is currently available. A 5 point calibration curve is generated.
